in a gala dinner General Body Meeting attended by more than 200 members at Hotel Park View, Sector 24-B, Chandigarh.

President, Chandigarh Beopar Mandal to be nominated as member of National Traders Welfare Board, declares Sh. Sunil J. Singhi Chairman, National Traders Welfare Board, Govt. of India, New Delhi. 

The vibrant spirit of Chandigarh’s trading community was on full display at a gala function organized by the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal in honor of Sh. Sunil J. Singhi, Chairman of the National Traders Welfare Board, Govt. of India. The event held at Hotel Parkview in Sector 24, Chandigarh, brought together prominent trader leaders of City  as members of the the apex trader welfare body  I e. Chandigarh Beopar Mandal.

Sh. Sunil Mehra, Member, National Traders Welfare Board cum Gen. Secy., Punjab Beopar Mandal and Sh. Balkrishan Aggarwal, Chairman, Haryana Traders Welfare Board attended as special invitees The highlight of the evening was the commitment made by Sh. Sunil J. Singhi to ensure due representation for the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal in the National Trade Welfare Board. He also pledged to assist in the formation of a State Traders Welfare Board for Chandigarh, a move that was welcomed by all the Traders present at the function

In his welcome address, Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM emphasized the pressing issues facing traders in Chandigarh namely simplification of GST procedures, OTS Scheme for Assessment of Old Vat Cases, deletion of section 43B (h) recently incorporated in  Income Tax Act., Pension for old traders, One Time License under Food Safety Act and need based changes in building bye laws etc. and urged Sh. Sunil J. Singhi, Chairman, NTWB to take up the matter with Central Government to address them promptly. A memorandum of demands was also presented to the Chief Guest outlining the community’s key concerns Sh. Sunil J. Singhi, in his address, assured the gathering that the present government is committed to fostering an environment where traders can thrive. He emphasized that a flourishing trader community is crucial for India to achieve its goal of becoming the third largest economy in the world. He also assured to take up the trader’s issues raised in the meeting with the Central Govt.

Chairman Trader Welfare Board expressed his deep appreciation over structure and functioning of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal. He particularly complemented Diwakar Sahoonja Patron cum Official Spokesperson for conceiving Veopari Bandhna and website cbmonline.in. Earlier a documentary about 25 silver jubilee years of CBM produced by joint efforts of Anil Vohra and Diwakar Sahoonja both former presidents and patrons was shown to the Guests and members and Sh. Sunil J. Singhi Ji as well other two special invitees expressed great appreciation over status, Structure and functioning of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal.
