Beti Padhao Scheme
Chandigarh, 24th January, 2019: The National Girl Child Week is being celebrated throughout the country from 21st-26th January, 2019 under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme. The theme of the week for January 2019 is “Empowering Girl for a better Tomorrow”.
Under this celebration, the Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration has organised awareness programmes to create awareness on Protection of Women; Good Touch Bad Touch; Right to Education; and role of Women and Child Helpline for women and children safety for the students of GMSSS Kaimbwala.
Under these celebrations, the Department of Social Welfare has also organised many activities/awareness programmes at grassroot level on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao theme i.e. Community Based Activities, Rangoli Competition, local leader meetings, door to door campaign, awareness on health, hygiene & nutrition as well as issues of adolescent girls etc.
has been celebrated with the message of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao under Kishori Diwas at Dhanass , Badheri, Burail, Raipur Khurad, Raipur Kalan, , Kishangarh, Daria, Vikasnagar, Palsora, Mani Majra, Indira Colony, Dhanas, Maloya, Kaimbwala, Khejeri, Adarsh Colony, Sector 24, 25, 41 etc.
The Department has also organised a puppet show at Bapudham Colony in convergence with the Song and Drama division team on the National Girl Child Day. The Department of Education has also organised number of events at the school level on the occasion of the National Girl Child Day like BBBP Rally, tree plantation drive, poetry competition, birthday celebration of girls. The National Girl Child Day has been celebrated with great enthusiasm and the administration is sure that the people will tend to bring a change in their mindsets.
